Exciting Improvements are cleared for take off!
The Florida Keys Marathon International Airport is moving forward with a significant infrastructure upgrade for the full reconstruction of Runway 07/25. This project is a critical step in enhancing operational safety, reliability, and long-term service capacity.
The reconstructed runway will be shifted 40 feet to the north of its current position, while maintaining its existing dimension of 100 feet wide and 5,008 feet in length. Construction is scheduled to begin April 2025, starting with the delivery and placement of fill material to form the new runway base.
The improvements will position the airport for a stronger and safer future for air service.
