Should You Be A Realtor: What are the Benefits?

More than 44 million people have a side hustle according to Bankrate.  The "Side Hustle" trend has become a huge part of life within the millennial group, especially, in order to save money for big moves like launching a business of their own or for a downpayment on a home. Whatever the case may be, these numbers tell us something. People are willing to hustle.  However, not all "side hustles" can provide the kind of return most are looking for, but real estate can. In fact, real estate is so customizable, that it often becomes a full time career, which is what we strive for with our agents.

Here is why many people get into real estate, and why you should consider this your next career move.

In honor of #NationalCoffeeDay, I thought I'd write about how coffee is "life" in every aspect imaginable, even, yes, in your business.

Coffee isn't just freshly ground heaven, it's an easy gateway to success. Here's how:

1. It builds strong relationships (no pun intended).

I always say building relationships is the cornerstone to being a successful real estate agents and I stick by that claim. Sitting down and having coffee with a past client, existing client, future client, gives you a chance to connect on a deeper level than just business. Selling how great you are at real estate only goes so far. Sharing a laugh or talking about family and experiences  creates a life long client. It'll pay off.

2. It creates new relationships.

September 10, 2017, Florida was hit with Irma, a hurricane that would forever change the lives of many. That much we know, but will it forever change the future of real estate in Florida, as well?

Irma has definitely affected real estate in a short term sense. Deals that were expected to close in September have been delayed due to the storm. However, The New Home Spot didn't see  any deals broken which is a great sign for the future. "I've seen a crazy amount of inquiries come through about our Anglers at Sombrero project located in Marathon, FL. People still want to live in paradise but they are recognizing the importance of having a home constructed to handle these types of hurricanes. Our homes in The Keys are on the water, but because we've…

Getting Approved for a Mortgage

Finding the ideal home can (and should be!) exciting for most people. However, many make a premature leap into property searching before taking the first and most important step in the home buying process: mortgage pre-qualification. Unless you plan to bring all cash to the closing table, the very first thing you should do, prior to spending hours browsing homes, is to find out if you’re qualified for a mortgage and for how much.

There are few things more disappointing than setting your sight on the perfect property only to later learn that it’s not in your budget. This is why it’s essential to get in contact with a reputable loan officer than can assist with the pre-qualification process of a loan. (Not sure…

Hello. I’m a millennial and I just bought a house. Why? No I don’t have kids and no I’m not dying to be Suzy Homemaker…so why’d I do it?

There are several reasons people buy houses, but for me, it had to do with two main ingredients to my life. I come from a decently small town in good ole’ Missouri where a million dollar home, is a MILLION DOLLAR HOME, if you know what I’m sayin’. Your money goes a long way. I moved to Florida after graduating college. I rented for 3 months and said forget this. Why is housing so expensive here!? So I bought a house. Which, by the way, my mortgage is cheaper than the two bedroom condo I was renting, so I feel like I can mark that down as a win.

It wasn’t so much that I didn’t want to pay someone else’s…

Texting has made its way into one of the top forms of communication. It’s great when you need short updates or fast talks, but they can have their cons. There’s a time for texting and a time for phone calls or even, dare I say, face-to-face communication. To know the proper avenues of communication will prove something of value to your business. Sending texts to your clients may seem effective and able to save time, but there can be consequences you might not realize. Texts can easily send the wrong message when read the wrong way, which can result in a disgruntled client. Texts can lose their personal touch and seem out of place in certain situations. Therefore, it is critical to be able to know how and when to use text properly…
